C Max electric mirror problem
« on: September 08, 2013, 11:03:18 PM »
 As a newbie first I want to say Hello for everybody. I am 36 years old male from Huntingdon. Cambs. recently bought a 2004 Cmax. The passanger side mirror was not working from the beginning, so today had a close look at on it. Noticed sometimes ago it was broken just mended for the trade. Thats my luck. anyway I like to do things. Took me 10 minutes to take it down. another 2 hours to take out the mirror. taking out the electrical saw the wires came out from the motor. Now I have 5 wires. 2 black wich I pressume going on the mirror as heating wires. 1 brown for what I have the place. 2 grey and 1 green and I do not known where to put, on the back of the electrical engine the wires places are numbered as 1,2 and 3,4. The brown is going on the 4th place.  I pressume the 2 grey are the negative wires and are going on the 1, 3 place . and the green wires is going to the nr.2.  Please just enlight me cose I am not sure . Thanks :( :( :(

Humm, I think you'll have to dig out the multimeter as the colours you have don't match the ones that are listed in the wiring diagram!!

1 = Blue/Yellow - Vertical Motor Adj +
2 = Yellow/Violet - Horizonal Motor Adj +
3 = White/Green - Both Motors -
4 = Green/Orange - Mirror Heating +
5 = Black - Mirror Heating Gnd

Those are the pin assignments and supposed colours so at least you should be able to work it out from that.

Hi all. Thanks for the advise, however I fixed as I could for the moment. It is working fine. attaching a picture how i did it. maybe someone will need again. One mistake I made the horizontal movement is the same as on the driver side but i do not care, not playing to much with the mirror settings. Once set up it is done. So here what I did.
 2 black wires went on the mirror heating
1 brown on the 4 number
1 grey on the 3 nr.
1 green on the 2 nr
1 grey on the 1nr.
 maybe I should change the green and grey but I am satisfied with the result.
Thank you

I would reverse it meself, whilst you might not need to adjust them frequently, mirror movement is part of the MoT (albeit I'm not sure exactly what is checked)
