climate control question
« on: November 26, 2014, 12:23:10 PM »
Im a bit puzzled how this climate works,  in the mk1 we had with manual controls   if things were steamed up inside in winter   i could turn on the air con manually with the heater on full and it would dry out the inside very quick and clear the windows,     now in this mk 2     if its on auto     how does it know i want the air con on to demist it,   if auto setting the inside temp to 22c  and the outside is 8c like today   will the compressor engage ,   getting a bit lost how it works.   i simply wish to dry out the air when its steamed up and thought this was quicker with air con on   but the air con wont be running when its heating    will it ?  ???

I believe if you direct the airflow to screen then regardless of the temperature the control panel is set to it will switch the air con on, providing the outside temperature is over 50 C (according to the handbook).
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

Assuming it's the climate control press the demist button on the control module (top left button) it will automatically turn on heated screen (if fitted) direct air to the screen and use heat (assuming it warms up!) and air con as it see's fit.
