Hi. The O/s bracket is still in place suspending the motor at that end. The gearbox is already out. I have hooked up to the rear eyelet and the front strap is attached to the bracket bolted to the head where the engine cover fits. I have released the jack on the sump slightly and let the hoist take the strain.
I'll leave it overnight and if nothing explodes catastrophically, I will start getting the sump off and replace this oil seal. Pity it doesn't just slot in as is but there y' go...
The clutch went on 3rd June. I ordered the clutch kit from my usual supplier in Germany that day but there was a problem with the carrier and it disappeared off the radar. The seller refused to reimburse or replace the goods until the enquiry was finished, which was going to take up to 3 weeks! The other stuff i ordered from them then got stuck at the warehouse for a fortnight as a software upgrade failed. As they were ebay sales I had to get them to finally sort it. I've got another clutch kit arriving on thursday so need to get the seal done by then. We would normally be camping at the coast this week but hopefully i'll be finished ready for Monday. (including oil and filters etc.) It's been a real blast this month. I had to hire a minibus to get everyone to my daughters choral concert in Limoges. Good job we both work from home and cycle a lot!
Cheers
L
