On the autobox fitted to the V6, it's not as simple as just using a dipstick to check the oil level- take a read here. (https://www.fordmpv.com/smf2/ford-galaxy-reference-library/ford-galaxy-automatic-transmission-fluid-replacement-level-check-(ag5-09b)/#sthash.hK1FZ6Rt.dpbs)

Hello, ive changed the oil and now im thinking of the trans fluid change, but the pics you sent me are abit confusing! ive checked some web sites and its confused me even more! 1 is there a filter? 2 how many litres do I need? 3 how hard is it to find and put oil into the gearbox? many thanks T :)

The four speed box has the sump at the bottom of box and is removed to replace filter.
The five speed box has the sump on the side it does have a filter but is not accessible without dismantling the box.

The specs are in the article linked previously, the gearbox oil capacity from empty is 7 litres but because some of the oil remains within the torque converter when you drain the box by conventional means (i.e, by using the drain plug- instead of dismantling the unit) you'll never get 7 litres out of it when you drain the oil, I'm sure I've read (as I don't have experience of doing the job) that you'll only get about half of the total oil out.

Not quite sure what you're asking in your third question but the gearbox filler tube is the one arrowed in the second image down of the linked article, accessed from the top of the engine bay (admittedly the vehicle featured in the linked article was a TDI not a V6 but the gearbox and filler tube location should be the same)- if it's not been disturbed before it may be covered by the red 'anti tamper sleeve' mentioned in Mirez's article. I'm guessing you'll need a small tube and a funnel to push into the filler tube to allow the oil to be fed into the gearbox.
