Heather blower fan intermittent working
« on: January 19, 2019, 12:42:15 PM »
Dear all
We have just recently bought our first 2002 ford galaxy trip 110 and so far been very happy with it.
But recently a lot of small issues have popped up.
One of them is the heater fan only runs for about 1 minute and the slowly stops and after a while when I have turned it of it can run for another 1min.
Is anybody familiar with that error and the possible cause? The different 1-4 positions of the fan switch doesn’t seem to have any effect.

Kind regards

Martin

Brushes are gone. Had same problem to mine.

Buying this car after knowing all common problems feels bit sadistic, but then again, my main income is from growing potatoes in arctic.

Possible seized fan motor or the pollen filter blocked solid. Another possible is the resistor pack.

Best to drop fan and pollen filter out to check.

Thanks that sound reasonably, I will have a look tomorrow.
Are they easily changed and available?

It’s been a while since I had my galaxy and took motor out but I seem to remember it was easily taken out from under dash behind glove box. As for availability I can’t answer that but would hazard a guess and say you won’t have much of a problem getting a replacement if needed

Thank you very much for the help!
One of the brushes was completely gone and had started to melt the plastic cage. Glued a new brush into the cage and away she went. :-D
