Howdy, new member with a few minor issues
« on: July 13, 2018, 08:14:14 PM »
Hello all,

Just picked up a tidy 06 plate 115 TDI se auto Sharan for the wife as a runabout.

Great drive and remapped to 140bhp, so goes stops and steers well.

Few cosmetic issues, the inside door handles in the front are tatty, anyone figured the best fix for this, can new ones be purchased from anywhere?

All 4 door check straps appear to be worn, so the doors don't really stay open, can these be fixed or will I need new ones?

Boot needs a good slam to shut, is there any adjustment to this?

PDC dosent work, I get the long beep and then flashing button when putting the car in reverse, and no idea how to get the front ones on, from what I am reading it looks like I may need to replace the PDC control unit under the passenger seat...agree?

I have the rdc200 head unit which I'm sure was fine in 2006 but it needs updating. Any oddness with swapping it for another double din, by that I mean is the wiring all a straight swap, I seem to remember that some dubs from the mid 200s ran some odd iso fed ignition live that means an aftermarket unit won't switch off?

Few questions I know!

If anyone needs wheels the standard 16 inch see spec wheels I won't need as I have a nicer set of Audi TT 17s. Tyres are all good but I want them gone so make me an offer if you are interested. Extra discount if they can be collected from Leeds this weekend!

Cheers all!

Some of the stereo plugs are the wrong way round on the red and yellow wires, so you get the stereo losing its memory every time you switch off (I think). Not major just a case of swapping them over.

PDC I'd say you have a faulty sensor on there somewhere. Fronts come on when the back ones do, or jab the button to wake them up. Suspect you will find if one set doesn't work the others won't either. I'd start by reseating them, then if the sensors are the same (don't know if they are or not) then get one, and try replacing it with one of the others to see if you can find the faulty one. Not sure if you can use vcds to see which one is at fault, not tried personally.

Tatty door handles seem to be a feature of them where the base material and the finish is a different colour, Mine look awful not tried doing much about it, if it bothered me much I'd take them off and try painting them.

Boot can be adjusted from the post sticking up out of the floor, it has some adjustment there, might be worth a spray with something first though. (assuming its not bent or anything of course)

Stereo wise any double din will go in with a facia kit and adaptor loom,I think the HU you have will have a ford type plug rather than ISO so if you do change have it out to check before sourcing a lead.

PDC I would check sensors first as that’s most likely given the age of car, best way is get yourself a kkl lead and vcds software to plug in to the system.

With my internal handles I took them off and used some acetone/nail polish remover to get what was left of the rubber coating off, rubbed them down slightly to give a good key and sprayed them with black plastidip. They came out really good.
