Title: judder at about 2000 revs

Recently I had a new head on my 05 sharan 2.0 tdi due to an oil in my coolant,  since then (it may be a coincidence) I have started to feel a slight judder when accelerate at about 2000 revs.  it only seam to happen around 2000 revs.  The garage initially ran some fuel cleaner though the system as a quick fix however this did not resolve the issue.  They now think that it's not an issue with the engine but something in the drive chain (eg. ball joints, drive arms, gear box, mass duel wheel, etc). I can feel it when in 4th gear driving about 40mph, as I drive faster the juddering disappears. T he garage says that its happening in all gears.

Unfortunately the garage think that the only way to try and resolve the issues is to change parts in turn. Looking to change the less expensive parts first then moving on to the more expensive parts.  The problem is I am still in convinced that the issue will be resolved and my bank balance will have shrunk considerably!

Has anyone had any similar issues? An known issues that it may be? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I still have the problem but untill this weekend had managed to do ananything. I jacked up the car this weekend and had a look at the drive shafts and they didnt seam to be any moment/play - i assume if there was any play in the drive shaft you would be abke to feel it by wiggling them?

I read that you could get a simular judder if you have a issue with the injector  wiring looms,  does this sound right, how can you test this? Also could replacing a head affect this area?

One of the first things I would try would be to get the fault to occur and then depress the clutch and see if it dissapears, though that won't immediately distinguish between an engine fault and a driveline fault if it's only occuring under load. Faults with the injector wiring loom can cause intermittent misfires, which usually will log a fault code if you are able to scan for fault codes. You need to establish if the judder is actually a misfire or a harsh transmission of drive to the wheels.
