mk 2 galaxy Key pat programimg
« on: July 22, 2015, 12:13:06 PM »
Good afternoon all,

well one issue resolved and another one pops along  >:(

The fey fob will not work to start the car, I have the factory spare key and the plastic valet key, both start the car fine, look up on the reference section done the sequence ! key in the off then the other key the the remote fob key, but nothing works, when it goes into program mode does the door led's stay on? or like old focuses is the a beep? as if its supposed to do something to tell me its in programing she's telling me nowt! oh the pat chip was lost so EBay one was bought with DI44, although for the life of me I cant see what's actually wrote on the chip it's self .

 Thanks all!

The transponder chip out of my Galaxy remote key is made by Philips and has the number PCF7935DS on it (you need a magnifying glass to read it though!) - exactly the same as this.

Hm, well as well as I can make out from your picture that chip looks very much like this (with the same number by the looks of it) - in the description for that chip it refers to cloning so maybe the chip you've bought can only be cloned from another key, i.e, it doesn't have a unique signature allowing it to be programmed in it's own right? This would explain why you can't programme it normally.

To the best of my knowledge it's done by a locksmith using a special machine to duplicate the transponder signature from an existing key, it isn't something you can do at home.
