MKII galaxy Aircon questions
« on: July 23, 2019, 05:22:01 PM »

More minor quibbles:  :)

Its hot and stuffy today and had the aircon on
for relatively short trips around North Bristol fetching and carrying stuff

The air from the vents is definitely cool, but not exactly chilly
which got me wondering if the aircon is up to snuff.
perhaps the short journeys didn't allow it to perform fully?
Any way to check?
The thing is, we get say 10 days of really hot weather out of 365 which makes me wonder
is it worth spending dosh on a check/recharge  or just live with it?

Thoughts chaps?

I never found the air con especially efficient on the galaxy, dryer filter change and regal helped but it still didn’t perform that well. If been running a while and under bonnet temps up it was better but short journeys it didn’t cool the cabin

On hot days I hose the car down with the hose pipe so that it cools it down a bit before I drive off. Also open all the windows and drink plenty of water. If you freeze a lemonade bottle overnight and carry that with you it helps too
I drive a Seat Alhambra 1.9Tdi which has 115bhp and an automatic gearbox.

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

I have lots of friends here and very much enjoy talking with you all.

Always remember, a motor car is a serious tool and should be treated with respect. Put your safety first, always.
