Title: Turbo fault?
Post by: mickeywis on April 13, 2015, 10:01:29 PM
Hi everyone, and thanks for reading my post.
Just bought a 2002 Galaxy TDI with 145,000 miles and I think I may have a problem. Now and then I hear a kind of dump valve sound from inside the car when changing gear, is that right? And today I can hear a kind of intermittent rattling/knocking noise to coincide. Are these connected? Sorry if this doesn't make sense to anyone but i`m no mechanic!! Turbo still works fine

Thanks in advance for any correspondence

Hello and  welcome5

Sounds like a bit of turbo flutter, it's back pressure releasing back up the air inlet pipe, if your not getting any boost issues don't worry.
