Failed the MOT on handbrake and suspension arm rear bushes.
I knew about the handbrake as the release cable on the lever snapped last month.
However, been quoted £550 to do the handbrake cable, rear bushes and drop link stabiliser on front.
Seems excessive! Any thoughts.

With the rear bushes, is that to replace the bushes, or replace the arm containing the bushes as a part? Also is this Ford dealer prices/parts, or an independant with pattern parts?

Replacing bushes and with pattern parts.

To do handbrake, drop link and rear bushes doesn’t sound too pricey to me.
Granted rear bushes can be done in situ with puller/pressing tool but there’s probably 1.5 hours per side labour I would imagine and then a 4 wheel alignment after. I would expect bush to be in region of £30-50 each?

I think the bushes have come down in price since I bought a pair at £50 each from Latvia. At that time (about 2014) the only local option was new arms from Ford at £500 each.....
Didn't need aligning as far as I could measure at the time and tyre wear suggests that was correct.
Mine will need changing again in the next year or so, having done ~100,000 miles, including some very rough roads in Yurp.
Ford uses Lemforder bushes as OEM, so if you can find a pair of those you are doing as well as possible.
