dpf issue?
« on: May 27, 2015, 10:38:51 AM »
The engine message came on during a long journey. Fault code was P269f, which is the fuel vaporizer fuse/open circuit. After restarting the car, the message went away. This seems to be a possible predictor of dpf failure so I've been monitoring the PIDS that seem relevant: dp_dpf, dpf_load and dpf_soot_ld. But I don't know what to look for. Dpf_ld is 62%, dpf_soot_ld is 72% and slowly rising. Dp_dpf is 0 at idle, rising up towards 10kpa on acceleration.

Any advice would be appreciated. When would a regeneration happen, and can I trigger one?

drive it like you stole it for a few miles and see whether that kicks its arse into gear to start a regen?

After driving with Forscan running over a few days I watched the %s rise until the dpf_ld hit 100%. At which point the vaporizer came on and the %s dropped rapidly to about 50%, then more slowly. So nothing was wrong and that fault code was some kind of glitch maybe?

I would not have noticed the regen happening if I wasn't running Forscan, which is a shame as I could easily have switched off in the middle if it had been a short trip - a lot of these dpf issues might not happen if there was a notification on the dash. On the other hand the soor dropped by 50% in about 2 minutes, so I think this system works pretty well.
