Hot Start Problem --- Galaxy 2.0L TDCi
« on: March 31, 2013, 12:50:50 PM »
Hi Thanks for looking and i really would appreciate any help you can give me on this. I have recently fitted a replacement engine (45,000 miler) to my Galaxy. The original engine was great until it dropped a valve. The new engine starts first time every time from cold and runs perfectly. The problem comes once the engine is hot and then it wont restart until it cool right down. Once cool it fires straight away. The only fault code showing is "low rail pressure". As i still had the original engine, I have swapped the rail pressure sensor, the high pressure pump, the crankshaft sensor and the camshaft sensor. Unfortunately I still have the same problem. My feeling is that I have a connection or cable failing when hot but don't really know where to start looking.
I should mention that the car doesn't cut out when the engine warms up -- it just keeps running. It's just the restart from hot thats a problem
Any advice you can give on this would be most appreciated.
Thanks very much. Dave
