Rear right indicator only flashes for a second or two
« on: July 01, 2020, 05:14:20 PM »
My Rear right indicator only flashes for a second or two. It then stops and the dash does the rapid indicator thing.

I originally thought it was the bulb but changing it has not made a difference.

Any ideas as to what could cause the bulb to flash for a second or two and then stop?

... and any idea how to retrieve the plastic wing nut from the rear light cluster when you have dropped it into the body?

Yes, maybe wiggle the bulbs around a bit or even lightly sand down the contacts to make sure all the electricity is going through ok. It might even be worth inspecting the bulb filaments themselves, looks for any signs of them being burnt out

You might be able to get the nut back using either a grab tool (like the magnetic ones but with a claw on the end instead) or using some tape wrapped around something with the sticky side on the outside to fish it back out.

Very good tip from Brian there, also sometimes I've resorted to using a hoover nozzle and sucking things out (obviously make sure you empty the dirt compartment first!), if you can bash it around a bit with a twig or something while you have the hoover sucking air from the general area I wonder if that might help you get it back perhaps
