Title: self service Galaxy 2.0 tdci 2012 - oil, air, fuel filters etc
Post by: stephendavid33 on July 05, 2014, 07:27:49 PM
HI all,
does anyone have any useful reference / guides for self service of my new Galaxy.  Have previously owned a VW Sharan and found loads of YouTube videos for servicing but cannot seem to find a good source of knowledge to help me with the Fords!

Thx in advance.

Stephen

Hi Stephen [W4]

The usual servicing oil air and fuel filters is pretty straightforward, the later 2.0TDCI need a cranked spanner to loosen the oil filter cap as the space is very restricted.

Views of the engine bay can be found in our reference library showing the location of the popular components See here (https://www.fordmpv.com/smf2/mk3-galaxy-reference-library/ford-galaxy-engine-bay-(mk3)-2-0tdci/)

Thx Chris - you are spot on in terms of the space being tight for the oil filter removal.  What size of  cranked spanner do I need - I suppose a socket and ratchet would not do the job ?? - used this for servicing vw sharan - seems easy in comparison with the ford!  Thx for your help.
