comming back tothe fold
« on: September 04, 2019, 09:53:14 PM »
well i never thought i would, but our time with the mitzi outlander is nearly up(over due)so we have chosen for the next 3 years on motorbility a spanking new alhambra.just waiting for it to sail in,in the next couple of weeks hopefully.
thought we were going to downsize somewhat but as we have now taken on the wifes neice WE defo need a 7 seater again.

had a looksie at the new skoda,BUT wow they wanted a hell of a lot of dosh for the deposit, the had a looksie at vw sharan, again quite a bit to lay out,but to be honest you didnt get much of a car for your money.
now the seat wow a lot cheaper then vw and a hell of a lot of extras built in.

still use the camper for my every day outings, and prefere it to the mitzi, mmmm wonder if i will like the alhambra better??

You _do_ know that Seat regularly comes last in the VAG quarterly QC analysis, don't you?

What does QC mean please? Is it Quality Control.

The Alhamb is one of the finest vehicles money can buy. However the head room in the rear row of seats is a bit limited and they should have made that bigger.

Also a bit more rust proofing around the wheel arches.
I drive a Seat Alhambra 1.9Tdi which has 115bhp and an automatic gearbox.

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

I have lots of friends here and very much enjoy talking with you all.

It is indeed.  The results usually go (from first to last): Skoda, VW, Audi, SEAT.  Not sure if Porsche participates.

Isn't it a funny old world where Skoda is now considered to be one of the best built cars money can buy. I remember all the jokes about heated windscreens to keep your hands warm when you push it and things like that when I was a kid. They have done so well in turning this brand around. And the 1.9 PD engine is truly excellent.

My Alhamb is excellent although I think the metal was built for climates where there is less sea air as I've noticed a bit of rust around the wheel arches. But still so pleased with it, it's such a practical car and very good on fuel too.
