Electric seats moving out of position?
« on: May 28, 2021, 12:26:20 pm »
Each time I get in my Alhambra mk3 the drivers seat has moved from its saved no1 position. I press 1 and it returns ok. Any idea why the seat is moving after the car is left locked up? On locking it's not immediately happening? Very strange?

Key personalisation active? The key you are using is assigned to another memory position. Try using the spare key and see what that does.

I can try another key but I've not set anything up. How do you set the key memory then? I've set the Seat memory.

Life was so much easier when all one had to do was pull up a lever and slide the seat forwards or backwards! Sometimes I do wonder if all this modern tech is a step forward or a step backward He he

I've not had it on a newer VW but the older ones it was in the MFD menu under personalisation.  I think you can also do it with the SET button so trying resetting the seat position into the memory with the key you want to use in the ignition.

Had funny goings on with a previous bmw with key memory settings no matter what key was used it basically did what it wanted. I ended up leaving battery off for half hour and then doing the memory settings again. That seemed to solve the problem.

Not found anything on MFD but will dig out the manual and check all the settings again. It's a nuisance needing setting every time I get in now.

Fixed it. There is an option to set a memory on the key by setting the seat then holding down the lock button on the remote until the car beeps? Now it stays put ok.
